Artwork by Gloria Ward
Gloria was born in Berkshire, England in 1949 - the second of five children. She acquired an interest in art whilst at school and remembers other children at primary school asking her to draw various things for them when they illustrated stories they had written in class. She now lives in
Sleaford, Lincolnshire where she undertakes commissioned artwork depicting various subjects. This, she regularly exhibits in the City of Lincoln and at Osbournby in
Lincolshire. Gloria specialises in watercolours of the British rural and urban landscape, flora and fauna, but also works in acrylics. Gloria is able to work from life or from photographs, but the latter is more usual for specific locations or people. Her pictures can be any size,
though usually up to about A3 (British Paper Size 11.7 inches x 16.5 inches). Her pictures are sold unframed, mounted or fully mounted and framed.

A recent commission,
from Gloria, is a painting of the famous mill at Heckington in Lincolnshire. Heckington
Mill is about five miles from Gloria's home in the old market town of
Sleaford, Lincolnshire and has been fully restored as the only working
eight sailed flour mill in the county. The mill is in use regularly
although the flour it produces is not a commercial operation.
Do you have a favourite country scene, a holiday memory or an ancestral
village that you would like Gloria to paint for generations to treasure?
Why not e-mail Nash Ford
Publishing
for a list of her current portfolio of artwork or to talk about a possible
commission.
